Hi, I plan to work in S. Korea and I wonder if (as of today) a foreigner with HIV won't have any restrictions to get a working permit in South Korea? Supposedly as of 2017 there are no restrictions but looks like no one knows for sure.

Can anyone please help on that?

Hi there

The application process and requirements for work permits in South Korea can be complicated.

What field are you planning to work in? While the official government position is that employers cannot exclude employees based on their HIV status, it seems that many will do so anyway. That being said, employers in some fields are more likely to stick to this position than others.

Your best bet would probably be to consult an immigration consultant directly and see what they advise you.

Hope this helps!
