Shipping and Removals in Zambia

Shipping in Zambia can be unreliable, therefore it's worth paying extra for an international firm. As Zambia is a landlocked country, it is also worth paying the premium for air freight as shipping entails transporting one's goods from the nearest port (which is Dar es Salaam in Tanzania). The land journey to Zambia is seldom without incident.

To ship one's items, the following documents are required: passport, residence visa, work permit, proof of employment, detailed inventory in English with values, dated and signed, and the original bill of lading and two copies with price of freight indicated.

The expat must be present for clearance in order to avoid bonded storage charges. All new items and motor vehicles are subject to import duty. Any drugs, perishables, firearms, pornographic material and left-hand drive vehicles are prohibited.
