Destination: Prague

My name is Reena. I am Indian passport holder. I have been working in Germany for 2-3 years. My German visa expires on 28th Feb 2019. I will get a work contract in Prague in the next couple of days which will start from 1st April 2019. My question is where can I apply the visa from. Is it possible to apply from Germany or Prague? Also, can I get visa for the month of March also so that I don't need to go back to India in March and come back to Prague in April?

Hi, I plan to work in S. Korea and I wonder if (as of today) a foreigner with HIV won't have any restrictions to get a working permit in South Korea? Supposedly as of 2017 there are no restrictions but looks like no one knows for sure.

Can anyone please help on that?

Amenities in houses in the suburbs of Nice

Expert Info

Submitted by sarinb on Sat, 02/16/2019 - 06:00
Destination: Nice

I am planning to move to Nice with my family (wife and 2 kids) this year for a duration of at least 1-2 years.

We are planning to look for accommodation somewhere around Antibes / Juan les Pins. For the move, I would like to understand what can we generally expect in terms of amenities in rental homes there.

1. Do houses usually come with refrigerators, microwave ovens, convection ovens, dishwashers and stoves?

2. Will there be space to accommodate washing machines for clothes? Can clothes be hang-dried or do people usually have dryers there?

I am trying to figure out the best options to take in an international move. I have minimal material wealth and am a freelancer that can work from anywhere. I only need to know what measures I need to make to make my move a lot smoother. Can anyone offer some tips, suggestions or comments that may help me?

Thinking of moving to Thessaloniki with a 5 year old & 6 year old

Destination: Greece

My husband and I are thinking of moving from Canada to Thessaloniki, Greece, with our two small children, 5 years old & 6 years old. We are Greek, and we all speak Greek, including our children. We have a place to stay, so we would not be renting or buying. We are all Citizens of Greece so we would have access to the Health Care system. Not sure if we would also need private health care?

Our dilemma mostly lies in how the current public education system is now in 2019? I have found a lot of info online but it is older information and I am not sure if things are improving?

Choosing a city in Germany

Hello there,

I've been offered a corporate job in Germany.  During the interview, they've asked a very surprising and interesting question:

"Where would you want to be located"

Apparently, it doesn't matter for them where I'll be located in any major city within Germany. Lucky me, I guess...?!

I was not expecting this, so I was a bit perplexed.  I said Frankfurt or Berlin.  But I guess they don't care, we can change that.

What can my family expect from schools in Sao Paulo?

Hi all,

I'm a Brit living in gloomy grey Britain, dreaming of emigrating to my wife's home town in Brazil (nr Rio Preto, SP).  She is worried about the state of the education system there and how that would impact on our two primary school age children.  She is a qualified secondary school teacher there so does know her stuff (don't tell her I said that, though!)

What do people generally look up to for drinking water in Dubai? Can you drink the tap water? I have heard that the water supplied by DEWA is treated in WHO standards. But, is it still safe. Are there any possibilities for contamination? Do the apartment/villa owners clean the tanks regularly?

I am planning to move to Mexico, not sure exactly where yet, but hopefully near the beach, pretty safe and in more of an urban area, that is not incredibly humid!! I expect humidity, but one of the areas with a little less!  I have a 9yr old son with Autism, not severe, but still requires services and he gets SSI through Social Security for himself and I also get SSDI Social Security because of Lupus. I get my money, regardless, but I found out that he will not. Is there any help in any form, for him/us when we relocate, since we will lose a chunk of money each month?

My husband has just secured a six month contract in KL expiring in August, 2018.  The contract has a high possibility of being extended, which is when our 8 year old son and I will then plan on joining him (from Australia).  A couple of questions please:-

1.  We are looking at an international school.  When does the school year start, and when should we start applying to schools?

2.  How will they assess which year level our son will go into?  Will he need to complete some sort of testing before being accepted etc which will indicate his year level?

Just would like to ask and verify what type of language is used in Oman? Is it primarily Arabic or are they already accustomed to the English language? Does one have to learn the Arabic language as a requirement to work there?

Hope to get a good picture of Oman.

Thank you.

My husband might be relocated to HCMC from USA, we have two children, middle and high school, so I was researching the International Schools in HCMC and found at least four American Schools - TAS, ISHCMC, ISHCMC American Academy and South Saigon International School. I'd really appreciate some input on these schools. I'm specially confused with the two ISHCMC schools... Any advice?

Thanks in advance!
