Hi all... For some reason, I've always had this desire to live and work for a while in Moscow, and now it looks like I might be able to organise a teaching job if everything goes well...

I want to know if there are any major, major cons (downsides) to living in Moscow!!  Should I go for it?

You should definitely go for it! One con, though... Moscow is a BIG city. Driving is impossible, so I really miss my car over here. It can be a big energy drain, just going out to deal with daily errands.

It's ugly and it's costly.

When you walk alone in the park after let's say 9 pm any drunk can easily kick you with the empty beer bottle on the head.
