Hi, I am from Dubai,an Indian passport holder who has an offer from Bangkok as a retail executive with a reputed company and they are offering me 5K USD + medical+tickets every year for me and family.

I have a wife and Kid and would be living in Bangkok central. So is this salary good enough for a person to accomodate all expenses and save around 70K BHT? I want some direction and advice plz. Thanks.

Hi dxbhuman

It more or less depends on the lifestyle you want to lead in Thailand. If you would like to send your child to an international school the annual tuition can be as much as 500,000 THB. So this is something to keep in mind. It might be a good idea to try and negotiate an allowance for tuition into your contract.

Besides education, the cost of living in Thailand is relatively low. For more detailed information about how much things cost in Thailand, have a look at Cost of living in Thailand. It might help you to work out how much you will be spending every month.

Best of luck

I would ask for the company to cover housing and education for you and your family. With that you will be able to save on that salary for sure. Without, you might see most of your earnings be spent straight away on schools and rent.
