Hi-

Thinking about moving to Cyprus, and as much as I'm ready to commit to some remote, rural no man's land - I also am kind of (okay, more like seriously) attached (okay, more like addicted) to the web. I need a high speed Internet conenction and I'm wondering in what parts of the country such a connection is available.

All the larger towns in Cyprus have high-speed Internet access, as do the smaller villages on their periphery. The more remote, rural areas may not include an option to install an ADSL line, but there is the option to receive a connection via satellite.

That said, outages are the norm, not the exception - so connectivity is a sore point. Not to mention, the Internet speed you pay for in your often expensive package is nowhere near what it should be, as the signal is so corrupted and attenuated by the time it actually reaches your receiver.

My advice, ween yourself off and start to enjoy the other pluses of island life.
