Sorry this is such an open question. I lived in Cyprus for 3 years when I was in the forces, loved the country and the locals. We’ve now decided to retire early from my business and move back to Cyprus. Before we make the leap could anyone advise me on a rough monthly income that I would need to live a quiet, relaxed life (hill walking, photography and beach life? Any advice would be welcome. Many thanks

Hi Dyfi Just wondered if you have made the move to Cyprus yet? This past year I have met over 20 couples who have are now in long term rental accommodation. Mostly early retirees, a few younger couples working and a few retired people. All now happily settled here in the Paphos region.

Rather depends if you own a property or intend to rent. Bear in mind you will have to take out private medical insurance for Immigration purposes as you are under state pension age. Huge variety of income in our group of friends as most rely on private pensions and they all rent so their figures vary from 1400 -3000 per month taking into account house insurance, car insurance, rent, rates, water, electricity, internet as well as personal expenditure. The people at the lower end of the scale eat out about once a week and enjoy a beer or glass of wine most other evenings!
