Hi rahulretail, Angola is generally a safe country to live in, but as with any large city, Luanda has some safety concerns, and you should exercise all necessary precautions. Petty crimes in particular may affect expats in the city - especially at night. Have a read of our Safety in Angola page for more on what you can do to ensure a trouble-free stay in the country.

With regards to your salary, it's not really a very lucrative one for an expat package, but considering your accommodation, food and transport will be covered by your company on top of this, this may help. However, the cost of living in Angola is extremely high, and you need to carefully consider whether this salary is enough to support yourself. Whether you ask for anything else on top of this, will all depend on your particular lifestyle and what is important to you, and also whether you will be supporting a family on this salary - international school fees in Angola can be exorbitant.

See our page on the Cost of Living in Angola for a break down of what you can expect to pay for your basic goods and services while living in Luanda.

Hi, I am starting up a financial advisory firm in Luanda along with my 2 partners who are from Luanda, I would like to know what kind of salary structure is there for locals who comes from accounting , Finance, Economics background both freshers as well as 3-4 year experienced professionals. We are only going to hire talented and experienced locals from finance field? Would it be possible to get good talents in finance from business schools in Luanda? What is the probability of getting allied services as our associates or partners for eg. Chartered Accountant, Legal , Tax Advisor, Company Secretary etc. in Luanda? Regards Abhi
