Hello I have been communicating with a recruiter online. I have accepted a job offer as project manager in a contracting firm making $25000.00 a month. Is that a reasonable pay for a family of 3? Thank you CC

Doha is one of the most expensive cities in the GCC region. I'm sure you can find detailed articles for some UAE cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Personally, I'd take the living expenses in Dubai and add an extra 25% (except the accommodation, which is subjective). A lot depends on a number of other variables that you haven't mentioned here. You need to do a lot of research. QatarLiving.com is a good starting resource. Many of the questions you may have already been answered. Use the search function. It's your friend. Assuming your family of 3 consists of yourself, spouse and 1 child - what's the age of your child? If s/he has started school, you need to factor school fees (which vary from less than QAR 500 per month to over QAR 5000 per month). Does your employer pay for the fees or contribute to it? - accommodation: assuming you are provided an allowance that is part of the QAR 25,000 salary. Factor 6000-8000 p.m. for a 2-bed apartment. You could get apartments for lower or higher rents as well depending on location, furnishing or lack thereof etc. - car: company provided or your own? are you looking to buy or lease? - living expenses: a moderate lifestyle without much extravagance would still require you to spend QAR 3000-4000 p.m. for a family of 3. This includes groceries (if you cook your own food most of the time), utilities, fuel, etc. I hope that helps.
