I am presently a non resident of UAE, Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Me and my wife are intending to start new small business of Beauty and Hair Stylist Salon in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. We are known to the market of UAE as I used to work in Oil and Gas in Habshan, Abu Dhabi on Work Resident Visa but that has come to an end two years back. Also we have experince of similar business in our local city.
Can anyone guide me through. Starting from which visa we will be eligible for, should I go with visit visa first or should I apply for Investor visa? what would be the minimum investment required for a very small salon. Generally how much a local sponsor takes. Is there any franchisee opportunity like Loreal or something else? Appreciate a thorogh advice.

Total budget depends on the size/type,locality etc. You can start business in mediocre area with 3 staff in around 300k AED including investor visa and staff visa expenses. Local sponsor fees are variable depending on individual, it could be any where from 5000 Dhs to 20,000 Dhs.
I would say either do partnership within existing business or start from a smaller set up, and then go bigger gradually. You will need to apply for investor visa if you want to own business, and you can sponsor your wife or vice versa. I am not sure if you can get franchise of such brands, as i never heard of such franchises. Dubai market is very saturated and is very small. May be Abu Dhabi is better option. At the same time, Dubai has more business due to high number of expat working women. Whatever You do, all the best. Let me know if you need more help.
