Hello, I am a Canadian resident and am completing the sale of a small property in Italy. I have to pay the realtor a fee of 5000 euro + 1100 IVA . Is it correct that a non EU resident pays IVA on the realtor commission, or is it refundable ? Thanks MClark

Hi there!

Thanks for your question. There are a number of factors that come into play for those selling property in Italy, such as how long you have owned the proerty and the particular agency you are dealing with.

For a general overview of property dealings in Italy, i suggest going over our Buying Property in Italy. You may also want to try this page on managing property in Italy, which deals with the issues of property sale in particular.
