I am having a short etrm project for 7 to 0 months in Riyadh and I gather rent is the major cost.

I'd like to know the rental cost for a single person with cooking facilty plus fridge and shower facility? Is rent payable every month or a year remt in advance or can there is month to month lease agreements?

How do I get to know where the rental buildings are available as I do nto see much of Internet afvt. like in the USA? Originally I am from India but now in the USA, but do not mind staying in a not-so-posh luxurious rental complex?
How can I transact my rental contract. Do I have to pay any leasing agents or can I do this on my own?

Thanks

Hi Samie,

You are right, accommodation is likely to be your biggest expense when moving to Saudi Arabia.

You will be able to save some money if you are willing to share a property. A room in a shared flat in Riyadh will cost around SAR 1,500 per month. If you were looking for a unfurnished apartment then that would cost around SAR 2.500 and you would pay more for a furnished property.

For more detailed information on the property market in Saudi Arabia take a look at the Expat Arrival's page on Accommodation in Saudi Arabia.

Most people moving to Saudi Arabia either have their accommodation organised through their employer or work through an agent. Check out our Accommodation in Riyadh page for a list of compounds and their contact details.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Since you will be in Saudi for 7 to 10 months. Best way to go is renting fully furnished apartment which you can pay it monthly. The prices varies from one place to another like say from 2000 to 4000 SR per month. Best Regards,
