Hello Everyone, I have been offered gross 5700 SGD per month. I'm married and moving with wife and no kid. Is it a good offer to afford a nice lifestyle in Singapore? What is tax rate currently? And it would be much appreciated if any one can help me with approx expenditure (rent+traveling+ medical+ food etc). What are advisable places for renting out and things need to keep in mind before moving in? Many thanks in Advance!

Hi there!

Thanks for your great question. You should be able to find all the information you need on our Cost of Living in Singapore, Accommodation in Singapore and Banking, Money and Taxes in Singapore pages.

While the cost of living in Singapore is generally high, I think you should be able to makes ends meet and have enough left over for a comfortable lifestyle. It would definitely be in your interest to negotiate a housing  allowance from your prospective employer, as housing in particular will likely be your largest monthly cost.

All the best for your new life in Singapore!

Sincerely,
Bradley
