when placed on a waiting list for a school in oman, how long could that wait take?

I need to join my husband in Oman with our two kids. most schools advised there is a waiting list. I don't know if I should just go up and look further or wait further or should I first confirm a school placement before going up to oman

We had the same problems. We were advised to put our names on the waiting list of every school in the area, the International School, TAISM, the British school and then let the chips fall where they may. We went with the International School and we waited for two months before they found a spot for our seven year old. Another month later, they replied back that they had a place for our four year old and nine year old. Send out lots of emails and hear what they have to say.

Depends what time of year, most people leave at the end of the summer term .. Also depends on the age of your kids, it seems some years are busier than others, it took us six months, we had to wait for a secondary place. If you have primary age kids there are more options available. BSM ABA & TAISM are the only schools who accommodate secondary ...

Apply for all the good schools, ABA, British school, Royal Flight, American Int. school, asap. If you cannot get in immediately place your children in any of the other schools and just wait for the opening to come up eventually. They usually do pretty quickly once you apply because people leave all the time. Thanks. Troy USA expat. kids at ABA.
