Is it possible for an English teacher to take his family with him to South Korea for a year?

Hi there

Taking your family with you is possible but can be quite challenging.

While many teachers are afforded a housing stipend, this is usually in the form of one bedroom apartments or shared accommodation.
This means you may end up having to source your own Accommodation in South Korea

Expats with kids have unique challenges to face in terms of the language barrier and their children's integration. The best route for some expats is an international school but these are often too pricey for a teacher's salary. Have a look at our Education and Schools in South Korea page for more info.

There is a wealth of information on the web about this issue but these pages are also useful for getting a sense of the broader context to be held in consideration:
