How can I find accommodation in Frankfurt?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Frankfurt
I will be starting an internship in Frankfurt in September, and am looking for an affordable place to live that's near my workplace (Baseler Straße 27-31 D-60329) There are a lot of websites to investigate, and I'm hoping for some help narrowing things down and making the best possible selection. If anyone could give me some pointers on finding a good place that's not too far from work and that won't bankrupt me, it will be very appreciated!

Destination: Kuala Lumpur
Dear experts and expats, I have been offered a role by a US firm to look after SE Asia, self employed, and was hoping to base myself from (my future) home in KL. I have 10 years experience and a related degree in my field (electronics). I would imagine i need a D11 EP pass visa and wanted to enquire on your opinions on my chances of having that granted? For clarity i wont be employed by a malay company or does the US company have an office in Malaysia. Second question was about taxes. Will i be liable to pay Malaysian taxes?

Can I buy a car in Italy before I get my visa?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Italy
I have been living in Italy for 3 weeks on a 12 month 'elective residence' visa. I have submitted my permesso siogiorno and my appointment with Questura is scheduled for 25 August 2014. I have obtained a Codice Fiscale, opened a bank account and rented an apartment. My question is how do I buy a car. I've been told I need a Resident Card, which will not be issued until after my Questura appointment. Does anyone know of a way around this (without having an Italian resident buy the car for me)? Warm regards Tim.

Internships and jobs in China?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Shanghai
Dear fellow expats,

I am a recent graduate from an American university in Spain and I am considering moving to Shanghai for a 2 to 3 month internship.

I am thinking about hiring a recruitment agency which does the internship/job hunting for you and guarantee you a placement if you are admitted to their program.

So, my first question would be if anyone has experience with these? I am talking about Gi2C, Top-Intern, IntuuChina, etc. Any advice?

Also, how likely is it that a company would hire me if I intern for them?

What are my options for after school care/ clubs for my six year old until I finish work?

Expert Info

Destination: Riyadh
Hi all, I've got a potential offer coming in from Riyadh, the difficulty is that I'm a single parent of a six year old and as most schools close around 2pm I would need to place her in some kind of after school club or care service until I finish work and pick her up. Currently in London I drop her off in the morning and at 3:30pm she gets picked up by the after school club and stays there until I pick her back up at 6pm after I finish work. Does anyone know of anything similar service in Riyadh? and perhaps monthly cost?

Advice about salary negotiations and employment in Vietnam?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Ho Chi Minh City
I know this is probably impossible to answer, but I am negotiating a position in HCMC (Saigon) for a very attractive job. They have made an offer of "$30/hr". I currently am a salaried professional making twice that amount in California, USA. I'm wondering if the fact that they are expressing this as an hourly wage means as much in Vietnam as it does in the US, as opposed to a salary. Furthermore, my understanding is that I should be asking for expat benefits. Here is what I was going to ask:
• Will the company pay all income taxes on the salary?
