Dear Expat Guru, I want to bring my family from India to Jeddah on family visit visa. I am already working in Jeddah. However, on my passport my wife's name is Aadel Farhin Marediya whereas on her passport it is Farhin Aadel Maredia. The name on the marraige certificate is Farheen Marediya. I just want to know if the spelling error i.e "Farhin" in my passport will be an issue in getting the family visit visa. Kindly advise.

I'm considering a job in Lagos. The salary is really good and the experience I'd be getting would be fantastic, but I'm worried about the safety situation in Nigeria, especially as it would mean I'd be moving to Lagos with my wife and small children. Is it safe to live and work in Nigeria? What's life like in Lagos?

Destination: United Arab Emirates
Hi, I have recently got an offer from company, www.CambridgeEducation.net, Dubai for tele sales profile. They have offered me 4000 AED. But they are not providing any benefits - fooding, lodging, transportation, etc. everything will be on my own. I am aged 26 yrs. and single. I am vegetarian and don't know to cook. Please suggest me if 2000-3000 AED is sufficient to live a decent life in UAE. I cannot spend whole 4000. Because I have to save money also. Please help me to take right decision - whether to accept offer or not? If no, what should be min. salary to survive in Dubai?

Moving to Zambia - Is life better for expats in Choma or Lusaka?

Expert Info

Destination: Zambia
Hello, We are going to live and work for 3 years in Zambia. We will be leaving around the 20th of April for Zambia. Work will be mainly in Choma and Lusaka. We can choose where to live Lusaka or Choma. Any advise is welcome. We have a slight preference to Choma, as we like the rural and we will be visiting Lusaka enough for work and we can combine with socializing and buying some goods. Is it difficult to find an adequate house with 2,3 bedrooms in Choma and a little garden? Or is this easier in Lusaka? Is there a lot of difference pricewise in renting a house in Lusaka or Choma?

Hi there

My husband is in finance and was offered a job in Singapore. Our son is 9 years old and I've just started exploring our options for schools. I know they speak English and have international schools but what are the prospects for a Western child going to a local private school?

Thanks

Sally

Does everyone moving to Dubai tested for Hep B?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Dubai
Hello, I'm an architect and have just accepted a job offer in Dubai and about to relocate there from London. I'm a Hep B carrier but don't have active disease and never had. Would I need to be tested for Hep B as part of medical screening for residence visa, or is it now limited to some workers categories only? Would be grateful for some answers as this could jeopardise my family's plans... G.
