Destination: London
I'm a Citizen of Canada and looking to move to England. My partner is a British Citizen, and we plan on getting married at the end of 2013 or within the next few years.

I'd live to move to England on a work visa for the 2/3 years I need to live in England before I can apply for a duel Citizenship. I don't know what type of work Visa I should apply for though.

Hi guys,

Considering a move to Switzerland from the USA. Might seem like a silly question, but can anyone tell me if how easy it will be to set myself up on the internet once I get to Geneva ? Is it a strightforward process ? How long does it take ? Can anyone recommend any good internet service providers in Switzerland for me?

Also, how easy it to get hold of a copy of the New York Times while in Switzerland?

Cheers,

Smith

Taxes in Germany??

Hi, Me and my mom will be going on a trip to Germany for two weeks. We are leaning on living there but theres one big problem. Taxes. We know we qualify for a limited residential permit according to the German Mission in California. But would we still pay the high German taxes? My dad works and lives in the U.S. and my mom gets paid spousal which supports her. I get child support which is tax free here. If we were to move to Germany for a year our income wouldn't be from Germany its from my dads U.S. job so would our income tax be based on U.S? If sow how?

Hi There,

I am moving to Ho Chi Minh City in July and I was wonderirng if anyone can give me advice on how much I should budget for monthly expenses ?  Rent, food, utilities, entertainment costs ?

If it turns out to be more expensive than I thought, I think I will postpone the trip and try saving more money in the US before heading to Asia.

Thanks in advance

Faith-based schools in Sydney?

Expert Info

Is anyone perhaps able to recommend an Anglican based co-ed school (from year 1 to 12)in Sydney?

I would prefer the Shire area, and really cannot afford St Luke's Grammar school, although it looks like a fabulous school.

I understand only public schooling is free to australian residents, so would like to settle my kids in one school, together, that I can afford going forward.

What fees (annually and monthly) can I expect to pay - pre and post-residency?

Thank you

Confused about Visas for Canada. Please help!

Hi guys,

I'm in the process of moving over to Vancouver, but I've been having a tough time organizing an appropriate Visa. I was late to apply to the 2013 Canadian Work programme, and all the Visas are now gone.

I had intended on staying in Canada for atleast 2 years, so I was wondering could I apply to be a permanent resident? If I can, are there restrictions I should know about being a perm. resident?

Is there an annual applicant quote like there are Visas? Or are there unlimited vacancies?

Hey guys, I'm going to be living in Ireland for a year come this summer and I'm just trying to weigh up the benefits of owning a car in Ireland. I'm gonna be living in Dublin and working at a pub at the Temple Bar area. Do I need a car, or is the public transport sufficient? Also, I want to explore the countryside a bit, so are there any buses or trains doing routes around the country? Anyone got any experiences of driving in Ireland that they can share?

Limited Residential Permit for Germany?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Frankfurt
Hi Everyone

I wanted to know how hard it would be to get a limited residential permit in Germany.

We wouldn't be working there we do not need a job, we are moving there for a lifestyle change.

Me and my mom both speak level 1 German and my mom is German and used to live in Mainz/Wiesbaden.

We defiantly have more than enough income to support ourselves and can get German health insurance. How long would it take to get a permit, how hard in our circumstance, and do we qualify?

Thank You, Chris.
