Submitted by MarcelKR on
Destination: South Korea

Hi,

My name is Marcel, I'm a German citizen living in London and would like to move to Korea in the future.

I know a company that would sponsor me if I make sure I'm eligible and know my options.

On that note. I'm 23, have 5 years experience in Recruitment and work as Senior Manager. I however not hold a university degree.

What options do I have for a work Visa?

I am also considering obtaining a D8 visa as last resort but have difficulties finding an exact amount of investment that has to be made in order to be eligible.

Does anyone have advice for expats moving to Shanghai?

Expert Info

Submitted by Sam243 on
Destination: Shanghai

I have previously lived in Shanghai for 2 years. We are likely moving back at the end of the year and I have a few questions:

1) Do they still require expats to go to that medical clinic and get checked-out before they allow the visa. The one where you have to drive out of the city and they do chest x-rays and TB checks, etc.

2) How was the pollution last winter? I have looked at the AQI, but wanted to hear first hand. I have a young child and this concerns me.

How do I find a job offer in the UK?

Expert Info

Submitted by Julia M on
Destination: Edinburgh

Hello,

My husband and I would like to move from New Zealand to either Scotland or Ireland, with our two children. We have NZ passports, so one of us would need to secure a job offer with a work visa before we leave NZ.

I think we fall under the Critical Skills list of occupations in both countries. My husband works in finance and I'm a media professional.

But how do we save time by going about approaching employers for job offers? Do we bother with recruitment agencies, or go to employers directly?

Hello,

I work in the UK and I'm planning to spend some time working remotely in Portugal. I will pay social security (i.e. national insurance) in the UK. I believe that I will need an A1 form to prove to the Portuguese authorities that I/my employer has paid social security in the UK.

Does anyone know when, to whom, I need to present this A1 form in Portugal?

Thanks in advance!

Expert Info

Submitted by P verma on
Destination: Luanda

I am being offered a Financial Controller profile by a company in Luanda. I am a CA from India and have about 15 years of post qualification experience with big MNC's in India. Some couple of hours research tells me that the package should include housing, food , a car, health insurance and one trip to home country every year.

That I am being given. My question to all friends who are in the know is " How much USD should one ask for as a saving. I am told this will be deposited in my account in the home country by the company every month".

Hi - looks like I can relocate to Budapest, Hungary for a couple of years with my husband. I was wondering about getting a job there - maybe a call center or something else at a global firm where I could put my English skills to use. Any idea what the job market is like for call center work? Any idea what the pay would be and if I could get more as a native English speaker? Thanks

What is the age limit for secondary schools in Canada?

Expert Info

Submitted by Tosin John on
Destination: Ottawa

I will be moving from Nigeria to Ottawa around January 2019. I intend coming with a dependant that will be 20 years old in July 2019. She will be in SS2 (Grade 11 equivalent) by then. I have read that cut-off age for secondary schools in Canada is 18 years meaning she will be above the bar then. How do we go about her finishing her secondary education and afterwards proceed to the University?

Looking forward to your swift response.

Thanjs and regards.

Do I qualify for tax exemption in Portugal?

Expert Info

Hello,

I have started working just over half the time for my UK employer at home in Portugal. My employer did an assessment and determined that in these circumstances I would still pay UK PAYE (which is clear from the tax treaty between the two countries) and I am still paying national insurance in the UK. So, so far, no change.

I am intending to register as a non-habitual resident. My question is about the tax exemption:

Hi there,

My critical skill visa was rejected with a "Submitted Inconsistent information" remark, but no more specific reason.

What should I do now? Should I request to review the decision, or should I rather reapply for a new visa?

Please help.

I am a French teacher. I intend to apply for a high school teaching position in Texas, as my current employer has an exchange partnership with schools in Houston.

I cannot afford a private school and I am not familiar with public education in the US. I want to find a school for my kids first and then find a job in the area. Here is my question:

I looking for some specific information related to changing employers in Spain. I have been working in Spain with a valid residence permit for around 2 years, and this permit is specific to ICT transfer from my current employer in India.

However, I have recently been offered a new job here in Spain. I want to know whether there will be any issue if using my current work permit, or if I will have to apply for a new one.
