Background
Beijing City International School (BCIS) offers a unique combination of the International Baccalaureate and its own optional curriculum, known as the IDEATE programme. This is a fully accredited high school diploma, meaning that BCIS students have the opportunity to earn two diplomas.
BCIS is situated on two purpose-built campuses less than a mile apart. The main campus houses the Elementary School (Grades 1 to 5) and the Secondary School (Grades 6 to 12), while the Early Childhood Center (ECC) for 2- to 6-year-olds is situated on its own campus. Both campuses have excellent facilities.
Highlights of the main campus include the outdoor amphitheatre, the fitness centre, the rooftop garden, the soundproof recording studio and the green-screen studio. The ECC campus has indoor and outdoor play areas, a storytelling area and puppet theatre, a child-friendly learning kitchen and a gymnasium.
