Healthcare in Adelaide

As in all major cities in Australia Adelaide has modern well equipped hospitals with excellent trained staff. There are a number of quality teaching hospitals in Adelaide and most the city's hospitals are connected to a university.

Royal Adelaide Hospital is the largest in the city but is planning to move to new premises. When completed in 2016 it will be one of Australia's largest and most modern hospitals. The hospital one uses for emergency services will largely depend on the expat's residence in the city. Flinders Medical Centre is for the southern Suburbs and Lyell McEwin Health Service for the north. There are others that focus more on planned surgery and most hospitals specialise in a medical procedure. Flinders is a liver transplant centre for all of Australia.
