Getting around in Brisbane

Brisbane's city cat service connects commuters from the suburbs to the cityBrisbane is undergoing a major infrastructure expansion to cope with the growing population, which means the roads get very congested in peak hours. Needless to say, parking in Brisbane's city centre is expensive.

Thankfully, Brisbane has a highly efficient public transportation service. Trains, buses and the popular CityCat ferry service are the preferred means of travel for most commuting to the city from the suburbs and surrounding areas.

The trains, buses and CityCat services all operate on a Go Card system, which is a preloaded travel card that allows for changes between buses, trains and ferries with ease, and only charges for your journey once it’s been completed (within a specific time frame).

Another popular way to get to work is by walking, jogging or cycling on one of the city's many river paths.
