Moving to Perth
Perth was ranked eighth on the Economist Intelligence Unit's 2011 list of the world’s most liveable cities, testament to its balanced lifestyle and excellent climate – backed up by its claim to have more sunny days than any other city in Australia. On the downside, Perth ranks as possibly the most isolated city on earth, and that means imported goods and international travel are expensive.
Its remoteness also leads to a sense of cultural detachment, reflected in a somewhat moribund theatre and arts scene. Many youngsters move to Perth as it's ultimately a young, outdoor oriented city, with a sedate and wholesome environment. This is a down-to-earth, sports and barbeque culture, perfect for families and lovers of the sun-bleached beaches.
Perth is the capital of Western Australia, which is by some margin the largest state in Australia. The southern and western border is formed by miles and miles of endless, faultess coastline, and the eastern border, is of course, the gateway to the outback.
