Colleges and Universities in Israel

Expats wanting to study at a University in Israel must apply to the specific faculty and department of the propspective institution. Israel’s higher education system consists of:
  • Universities - bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees
  • The Open University - bachelor's and master's degrees
  • Academic colleges - bachelor’s degrees
  • Academic teacher training colleges - B.Ed. degrees
  • Regional colleges - academic courses which give credit towards degrees awarded by sponsoring universities
  • Extension campuses of foreign institutions of higher education
By law, the minimum length of study for a bachelor's degree is three years. Most bachelor degree programmes at universities in Israel require three years of intensive study, in a single or double major. Exceptions are nursing, engineering, architecture and law degrees, where degrees are granted after four years of study.
