Insurance in Norway

Every person in Norway is guaranteed medical insurance, and in addition, your employer will guarantee other types of insurance, such as travel, life and work-related injuries. In addition, you can purchase other household and personal insurance, such as travel, car, home and property insurance at affordable prices through various banks and insurance agencies.

Health and Social Insurance

Residents of Norway are entitled to medical health insurance, family benefits, a pension, free education, unemployment, and other social benefits. If you are a resident of Norway and work there, you will be covered by the national social insurance system in Norway.

If you are a Norwegian resident but work in another country (except for a limited time), you will not receive Norwegian social insurance. Nationals of EU/EEA countries are entitled to the same rights as Norwegians. For more info, visit the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Service (NAV) or Nordic Social Insurance Portal.
