Beauty in Oslo

Although Oslo is a small capital, it still offers all the services needed for keeping up appearances. There are numerous salons, hairdressers and barbers. A very well known chain is Adam og Eva. They provide hair care for men and women. The best way to find one is to ask friends or colleagues.

One thing to keep in mind is that hair care is expensive. Men can often get their hair cut for 200 NOK and even as little as 150 NOK in the immigrant areas. Women pay at least 300 NOK and usually much more. A cut and colour will run you upwards of 1,500 NOK.

Beauty products are available in boutiques and department stores. The value store H&M offers very low-cost products in its own line of beauty boutiques. Pharmacies also have beauty sections, but supermarkets have the best prices for beauty basics.

Spas are becoming more and more popular in Oslo as people begin to have more disposable income and to appreciate being pampered. All the major hotels have spas, such as the SAS Radisson and the Grand Hotel. For good deals during spa week, check out the spa portal Spadeal

Most spas also offer massage services. In addition, massage parlours are also becoming more common. You can find massage therapists who will come to your home, Thai massage parlours and bigger hotels offering massage. For listings, check the Gule Sider (Yellow pages).
