- Ullevål Sykehus is part of the Oslo University Hospital. It has many specialized areas, including a well-reputed maternity ward. The hospital also runs many residency training programmes for different groups engaged in health care, such as doctors, nurses and lab technicians. The hospital is a level I trauma centre, servicing approximately half of Norway's population.
- Rikshospitalet is also linked to the University of Oslo and the Radium Hospital, and does specialized treatment and research. About 60% of the patients admitted to Rikshospitalet are referred from other hospitals in Norway. In Norway, Rikshospitalet plays an important role in the treatment of rare and complicated disorders.
- In case of an emergency, or any injury that needs attention, you can visit the legevakt (first aid services). This is a public service and each community has one. The wait is long, but you will receive care anytime, 24/7. Oslo’s legevakt is on Storgatan 40 or you can call 22118080.
