Background

Opened in 1995, Yew Chung International School of Beijing has been providing outstanding education to expat students for nearly 25 years. Since its pioneering start as one of the first international schools in Beijing, it now boasts a student body of 750 students from over 45 nationalities. The school offers a unique bilingual curriculum, comprehensive music programme and is renowned for its continued commitment to charity.

Using an international curriculum based on the framework and schemes of work from the National Curriculum for England and with a bilingual focus, YCIS Beijing ensures a smooth transition between different Key Stage levels of education through to graduation.

Curriculum

Education begins in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from two years old and continues all the way to the IB Diploma for students aged 16 to 18. Lessons in ECE and Primary are co-taught in English and Mandarin Chinese, preparing children for linguistic and cultural fluency. The curriculum is based on the National Curriculum for England, and transitions to the globally recognised IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme in Secondary.

YCIS Beijing students consistently achieve world-class results in IGCSE and IB DP. Every year, graduates go on to study at top universities around the world including those in the Russell Group and Ivy League

Fees

Fees for the 2023/2024 school year range from RMB 123,000 for Kindergarten (Half Day) to RMB 319,000 for Years 12 and 13. There is an application fee of RMB 2,500 as well as a one-time refundable security deposit of RMB 20,000. Scholarships are available to academically outstanding students.
