Background

ESS first opened in Moscow in 2008, and in 2016 moved to a bigger campus in Lefortovo District. ESS is quickly becoming one of the best established and most reputable international schools in Moscow. It is a not-for-profit school. Unlike many international schools in Russia, no monies are sent abroad: everything is spent on the students and families. The school offers very attractive prices.

Academic excellence is matched by a holistic curriculum which includes good manners, widening cultural awareness and social responsibility, and develops team spirit and care for all ages.

School Ethos

Its mission is to prepare students to be the leaders of tomorrow, whilst encouraging students to love learning and become responsible citizens.

Curriculum

ESS offers the English National Curriculum with a keen focus on maths, science and IT, as well as developing first-class English literacy. ESS firmly stands on the same high academic standards as any high-rank private school in the UK.

The school enjoys a spacious and newly upgraded campus, on a green site with a well-equipped play area and all-weather sports area. Small class sizes ensure individual attention, the teachers are UK-qualified, and all students are fluent in English. Children are welcomed on their own merits, and the programme is tuned to individual needs.

Fees

Annual fees for the 2020/2021 school year range from EUR 16,000 for Early Years and KS1 to EUR 24,000 for KS4, KS5 and Sixth Form. Fees are payable per quarter; there are four quarters per school year. There is a once-off enrolment fee of EUR 4,000.

From the headmaster

"ESS is dedicated to offering the best possible English-language and -style education in Moscow.

"The senior staff have extensive experience internationally and in Russia. Small class sizes and caring teachers make sure every child gets individual attention. The IGCSE and A-Levels are all set and marked in the UK, guarantee standards and are accepted worldwide.

The UK system combines a good level of knowledge with a commitment to enquiry based learning, with a maximum of practical learning methods. With a particular focus on Maths, IT and Sciences (STEM), pupils’ learning is geared towards developing independent skills for higher study. Education is a process of developing skills and the ability to find solutions to new challenges, not merely a quantum of (rapidly dated) information. Learning by doing.

Do come and see for yourself: you will be made most welcome."

From the parents

"I can unhesitatingly say that ESS is a unique school in its kind, as it can satisfy the needs of the most sophisticated and demanding parents.

The school provides an environment that enables students to develop trusting and supportive relationships. As a parent, I am confident that the school is able to provide my child with quality education in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. It is important to make the right choice, as it guides you to the proper way of learning, which should be challenging and enjoyable."

– Tatiana, Mark’s mother
