Background

Raffles American School, Malaysia, opened in August 2012 and offers a new, state-of-the-art educational curriculum. RAS is undergoing two phases of development – the construction of a contemporary educational facility and the development of the Anjung Campus – to meet current student enrolment requirements. Both sites are located in Nusajaya, Malaysia, just minutes from the Tuas Link between Malaysia and Singapore.

The school is currently accepting admissions at the Anjung Campus for the 2014/2015 school year for age four turning five through to Grade 10 with the view to becoming a full Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 school with the construction of the main site. The first phase of the permanent site is targeted to be completed in 2015.

The excellent, purpose-built complex will include a planetarium, a greenhouse, and extensive research, sport-specific and arts facilities as well as classrooms equipped with cutting-edge teaching tools. The school will offer students a rich curricular and co-curricular experience through its extensive, purpose-built facilities and dedicated, passionate staff.

Curriculum

The school follows an American curriculum, culminating in Advanced Placement Studies (AP) and the American High School Diploma. An American High School Diploma qualifies the graduate for university acceptance worldwide. At every level, the academic focus is to develop communication skills, organisational and research skills, problem-solving/thinking skills as well as interpersonal skills and to have students demonstrate and apply these in real-world scenarios.
