Background

The sister school of L’Ecole des Petits, L’Ecole de Battersea was opened to accommodate elementary school pupils up to the end of CM2 (Year 6). The school opened in 2005 and today has about 250 pupils of 30 nationalities. A wide variety of extra-curricular activities are offered, including fencing, basketball, sewing, drama and more.

Pupils leaving L'Ecole de Battersea at the end of CM2 (age 11) will have priority placement at AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) schools, including Lycée Charles de Gaulle.

Curriculum

The school follows the French curriculum. Teaching is in entirely in French in the standard stream, while the bilingual stream has pupils studying English for several hours a week. Tutors are available for those who will be moving on to English schools after CM2.
