The Rand Show (April)

The Rand Show is an 11-day festival with non-stop entertainment throughout. Boasting an all-day carnival that includes buskers, stilt walkers, jugglers and many other entertainers alongside countless stalls, the Rand Show offers attendees a unique experience. Additionally, there is an adventure zone that promises to get the adrenaline levels up.
 

The Wine Show (June)

Attendees at the Wine Show can join fellow wine enthusiasts in tasting and buying wines from dozens of estates around the country. Be sure not to miss the unique experience of the festival's Wine Theatre shows. 
 

Johannesburg Arts Alive Festival (September)

Arts Alive celebrates the city’s awakening from its winter slumber and the onset of spring. This vibrant and eclectic feast of arts and culture takes place at various venues in and around the city throughout September, and features the very best in home-grown theatre, dance, music, visual art and general entertainment. Expats can also look forward to the annual Jazz on the Lake at Zoo Lake around this time.

 

Old Mutual Encounters Concert Series (October-April)

Enjoy a varied line-up of artists on a hot summer afternoon at the Botanical Gardens. Each Encounters Concert showcases two or more artists from markedly different genres collaborating to create unique music performances. The open-air concerts cater for all music tastes from jazz, folk and Afro-pop, to hip hop, rock, blues and choral encounters, and are a delightful way to absorb the beautiful surroundings and unwind.
