Working in Seoul

The majority of jobs available to English speaking expats tend to involve either teaching or the US Army.
Most top companies in Seoul insist that their managerial staff speak English. Thus conducting business in Seoul is straightforward in terms of language. However, there are certain rules of etiquette and social customs that one should read up on before going into a business meeting.
South Koreans work hard and play hard. Business dinners are quite common and usually escalate into evenings spent downing shots of soju, a local rice spirit, before singing your heart out at a local noraebang, or karaoke room.
Work visas are required before you can start working in South Korea. Once you have arrived and started work an Alien Registration Card must be applied for at your local immigration office.
