Weather in Madrid

Expats will find the weather in Madrid comfortable, but not as ideal as the Mediterranean likes of Barcelona and Seville. The city generally has a pleasantly warm and dry climate, but there is a broad variation between winter and summer temperatures due to its altitude and proximity to the mountains.

The summer heat can get very intense with an average temperature of 25ºC (77ºF), and many locals even leave during August in search of cooler climes. Winter temperatures can drop as low as 32°F (0°C).

Rainfall is low and occurs mainly in late October/NovemnerNovember and occasionally in spring.
