Restaurants in Zurich

Expats eating in Zurich benefit from Switzerland’s most international city and its range of cuisines. Naturally there are strong offerings of French, German and Italian cuisine.

The closest you will come to a local dish is probably Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, veal stew with mushrooms, cream and white wine and Swiss favourite Rösti. The best eateries can be found on left bank and right bank areas. Reservations should be made well in advance and a tip of 15% is normally included within the bill.

Picking restaurants is a very subjective exercise but here are some of our favourites:
 
Petermann’s Kunststuben
Possibly the finest restaurant in Switzerland; a magnet for celebs and gourmets around Europe. Book far in advance – and well worth it.
