There are hundreds of amazing hot springs throughout Taiwan and a visit to one is a fantastic way to destress. You can choose to simply soak your feet or to immerse your entire body. Public baths require you to be completely naked and are thus separated according to sex. However, private rooms for rent are also available at hotels and resorts.

Karaoke (KTV)

Karaoke is not merely a source of entertainment, but is rather a way of life in Taiwan. Causally referred to as KTV, it is popular for birthday celebrations, staff functions and weekend entertainment. KTV establishments are usually open 24 hours. Entire buildings are dedicated to karaoke with floors and floors of rooms that you can rent by the hour for you and your songbird friends. Food and beer are sold on the premises.
 
Tea drinking

Taiwan produces spectacular teas, most notably Oolong tea which is a popular export. There is dozens of locations throughout Taipei where expats can learn about and experience tea culture.
