There are some great annual events that have put have Boston on the map:

Boston Marathon (April)
The Boston Marathon is the oldest in the world, and each year approximately 20,000 runners take part in this world-renowned marathon. Head down to the streets to cheer the runners on, or even better, take part yourself and get to see another side of Boston.

Boston Harborfest (June to July)
With over 200 events such as concerts, re-enactments, walking tours and parties, expats who have relocated to Boston should not miss the Boston Harborfest which celebrates the united States’ independence in the colonial and maritime heritage. Head down for the 4th of July orchestra and fireworks display to celebrate your first Independence Day in an unforgettable way.

Dragon Boat Festival (June)
The annual Dragon Boat Festival takes place each year along the banks of the Charles River and sees thousands of visitors flocking to sample local Chinese fare, watch martial arts demonstrations and drumming, Buy traditional Chinese arts and crafts and of course, watch the Dragon Boat races.
