Fitness in Chicago


Newcomers in Chicago should acquaint themselves with the Chicago Park District. This organisation manages more than 7,600 acres of parkland in the city of Chicago and runs programmes of all kind (indoor and outdoor) using the allotted space.


The activities available go beyond your imagination and they target all groups and ages. The prices are very low. The CPD provides health and fitness program such as aerobics, aquatics, dance, boxing, fitness, self-defence and yoga.

Chicago Athletic Clubs

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago

The YMCA has 21 locations through the Chicagoland area. Swim in Chicago


Some of the fitness centres listed previously have their own private pool for their members. When choosing your fitness centre, the fact that they have a pool or not can become a criteria in becoming a member. 

 

Chicago Park District

The Chicago Park District has 26 indoor pools and 51 outdoor pools. Additionally, CPD manage the staff and run programming at 36 Chicago Public School pools in partnership with After School Matters, 18 of which offer community programming.
