Healthcare in Miami

Health and fitness are taken seriously by people in Miami. Fortunately, 28 hospitals make Miami a hub of healthcare service in Florida. These include several nationally ranked hospitals.

Health insurance is essential in Miami and long term care can be denied to those without proper medical coverage. All hospitals in Miami are required to accept patients needing emergency care although one can expect to be billed heavily after.

Expats should make sure overseas medical insurance is applicable in Florida; although, many US employers will provide medical insurance as a benefit.
