Climate in Turkey


Turkey is a large country with huge variability in climate. Istanbul features hot and humid summer weather and can be windy year-round. The temperature averages 82°F (28°C) over June and September. Summers are generally dry, but there may be rain all year round. Winters are characterised by cold, wet and occasionally snowy weather. Temperatures rarely reach a freezing point, however.

Ankara has warm and dry summers with cold and snowy winters. Ankara’s rainy season is spring, particularly during May.
