Moving to Turkey

Turkey is a popular and vibrant expat destination that rewards expats moving to Turkey with an enriching and surprising experience in living between the ancient and the new. Expats moving to Turkey find wonderful contradictions are part of daily life: chic boutiques and exotic bazaars; church bells and moslem muezzin, Roman ruins and Ottoman architecture alongside glass-walled modern buildings.

There is more to Turkey than Istanbul although that is where most expats are based. Turkey has a wide range of landscapes, sights and characters, appealing to history buffs, nightclub freaks, archaeology nuts, sun-worshippers, city-lovers and shopping addicts. There is something for everyone in Turkey - no end to the fascination and excitement.

Istanbul stands with one foot in Europe and the other in Oriental Asia, a captivating city with lively markets, royal palaces and minarets, with wonderful modern art and entertainment. Cappadocia in Central Turkey is world famous for its landscape of volcanic rock houses and chimneys and subterranean cities; to the south the 'Turquoise Coast' is a postcard of beaches and coves. Then there’s the ancient cities of Troy and Ephesus, with ample evidence Turkey’s ancient glory.
