Accommodation in Zambia| Expat Arrivals

Moving to Zambia usually entails a move to Lusaka. Most expat accommodation is in 3 or 4 bedroom free-standing houses, with a swimming pool and security. What one loses in domestic luxuries one gains in space and access to a private garden.

There is a shortage of quality long-term rentals, however. When found they go for between $1,200 for a small house and $4,000 per month for a luxury villa. The best places to source accommodation in Zambia are in the daily newspapers, the monthly publication "Lowdown", and local estate agents.

For those wishing to buy property in Zambia, houses start at around $50,000 but can go up to as much as $1,000,000 or more for those built for true luxury and surrounded by some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world. Apartments start at around $20,000.
