Hi there,

I am a single expat and am looking to move to Hong Kong. I was wondering what is a good area to be in if my workplace is at Kwan Tong? I would like to be near the train station and amenities ie. a mall. My budget is around USD 2,500 and am looking at newer apartments. What would you suggest?

Pls advise.

Thank you!

Single expats and young couples in Hong Kong enjoy living in Mid-Levels, an area just south of Central and Wan Chai. This may involve a bit of a commute to Kwun Tong, though. I'd suggest having a look at the Expat Arrivals page Areas and Suburbs in Hong Kong. It suggests some of the best neighbourhoods in Hong Kong, and you can search the areas in Google Maps to find the distance to Kwan Tong and also see your options for public transport and amenities nearby. Have you explored the types of accommodation available in the area and what is involved in renting property?

All the best!
