Hi- I don't seem to have a clear idea about the tax slabs in Malaysia. I am looking to move to KL from India. Is my understanding that tax levy will be outright 26% on the salary amount, correct? Also does the salary structure in Malaysia accomodate any tax-free components(housing allowance, travel etc.)

I recently arrived in KL from the UK with my partener as he has a job here. I have been finding it hard to find a suitable job as I don't have a degree, I do have a foundation degree which is in IT, Physics and Quantitative Methodods however my experience is in both working in a school with children aged 3-11 and in administration with the Inland Revenue in the UK. Most of the job posts I see require a degree however I am 33 now and have alot of work experience but this doesn't seem to count for much. Any help or advice in the right direction would be great. Thanks Louise

Hi, I've currently based in the UK, but have been shortlisted for a position based in Moscow. I haven't gotten the job yet, but it's looking good, and I wanted to start preparing to negotiate my contract.

I wanted to know if there would be any additional costs built into housing other than just rent and utiltiies. In the UK we have to pay council tax, is there anything like that in Russia? Furthermore, how much could I expect to pay for a fully-furnished one bedroom in a good area?

Child Care option in Hong Kong for Infants/young toddlers

Expert Info

Destination: Hong Kong
I'm moving with my family to HK. I will be working in the Causeway Bay area. I have a 18 month old daughter. Is she too young to be accepted into a childcare center in HK? If this option does not work, is it usual for expat moms to hire a in-house nanny to care for young child while they are at work. How much does it cost to hire an experienced nanny and what are the usual ways to find one (referals, use a service agent, etc)? In addition, If I would like to find an apt within walking distance to the MTR and childcare centers/kindergarden with good reputation, where is a good place to live?

Can I get an Australia 457-visa with a drunk driving criminal conviction

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Australia
I was convicted of drunk driving 10 years ago when I was 23 (and stupid), and never got it expunged. Now I've been offered a job in Australia, but I'm worried I won't be able to pass the character assessment of the application because of the fact that the conviction appears on my police record. Can anyone who has been in a similar situation let me know what happened?
