Hello - we are researching primary and secondary British schools in Moscow - we want to stick with the English curriculum . Please could you make suggestions?  I have read about the International School of Moscow and the English International School in Moscow. Anyone know about these? Any advice appreciated...

Hi Tom, there are a number of international schools in Moscow which follow the British curriculum. These include the International School of Moscow, the English International School and the British International School. The standards of education at all of these schools is excellent; although you will pay a premium for it - fees can be in excess of 20,000 euro per year for senior school children.

The English International School recently opened a new campus in Moscow East, and admissions are now open. The other established campus is in Moscow West. The EIS has received a number of good reviews from expat parents and the schools prides itself on creating a balanced academic life, including strong academic performance and extra-curricular activities such as drama and sport.

The International School of Moscow is also located in Krylatskaya, in the west of Moscow, close to a number of expat compounds. The school has access to a number of excellent sports facilities, and the student body is not large, with around 300 students, and welcomes students from many nationalities, not just British.

Another good school to consider is the British International School, which has a number of campuses around the city. For a full list of international schools, including links to their websites, have a look at our International Schools in Moscow page. For further general information about education in the country, have a read of our Education and Schools in Russia page.

It's best to plan well in advance before your intended move to Moscow - waiting lists at these schools can be extremelly long!

Hi Catherine. Am interested how you know about the Russian International schools. Did you live in Moscow? I am from Jo burg originally, but have lived in Paris for the past 7 years, and it looks likely that we cld be heading for Moscow soon. I'd love to 'chat' with you if you have further info to what you wrote above. Have a great day - Alexandra

BISM #1 is excellent for its size, since the teacher can easily follow up on individual study progress of all children. In addition, the location of the school near the park area is excellent for children for outside breaks and sports. Every day I can see my smiling child! It’s great!!
