The school is divided into two campuses a short walk from one another, located on the outskirts of Baiyun district on the beautiful shores of Nanhu Lake. Students from age 1 to 18 are accepted on a selective basis and are interviewed to test English ability. The school has world-class facilities including purpose-built buildings for each phase, well-equipped sports facilities, libraries, art and music rooms, a golf range, a theatre and a swimming pool complex.

What the school says

“Central to our efforts is creating an environment where pupils can thrive. We make every effort to integrate our five Core Values into everything we do; a love of learning, integrity, commitment, responsibility and respect form the basis of our academic and pastoral care for students. The curriculum demonstrates a commitment to challenging in equal measure the intellectual, creative and sporting talents of our pupils. We encourage our pupils to become clear-thinking and well-informed individuals who are not only coherent, but also enthusiastic, well-mannered, and caring.”

Curriculum

The school follows the English National Curriculum from the Early Years through to the IGSCE examinations in Year 10 and 11, and A-levels in Year 12 and 13.

Fees

Fees for the 2018/2019 academic year range from 45,470 RMB for toddlers two days a week, to 236,865 RMB for Year 13. The fees are split up into instalments, payable before each of the three school terms. There is also an additional application fee of 1,500 RMB and a separate, non-refundable admission fee of 20,000 RMB per family. Additional fees for bus transport, uniforms, school lunches and ESL support are also applicable.

Location

The school is in northern Baiyun district, just off the Huanan Expressway, and is a 20-minute drive from the city centre.

From the principal

“BSG was founded with the aim of providing British private education of the highest standard to the expatriate community of Guangzhou. Ten years on, I have no hesitation in affirming that the school not only fulfils its core mission but continues to develop and improve year-on-year. I personally feel privileged to be a part of BSG's community of dedicated staff, supportive parents and high-achieving pupils. I trust our website will provide you with some evidence of that and encourage you to get in touch with us should you wish to learn more about our school.”

– Mark Thomas, School Principal
