What the school says

“The Australian International School has a vision to be known internationally as an institution which represents educational excellence in all aspects of its operation. Our school philosophy commits us fully to the notion of a holistic, rounded education, which cherishes the arts and sports as well as academics as essential dimensions of each student’s education.

“We are equally committed to teaching our students to have a moral commitment to making our world a better place as reflective, caring, knowledgeable and principled people. At AIS, each child is special, each is important.”

Curriculum

Approximately 70 percent of AIS students opt for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), guided by experienced faculty, yielding results surpassing the global average. In 2022, the graduating class achieved an IB average of 34.4, surpassing the global average of 30.91.

Notably, two students scored a perfect 45/45, 21 percent achieved 40+ IB points, and 30 obtained a Bilingual Diploma. In 2023, AIS earned accolades in the HoneyKids Education Awards, specifically for “The Curriculum Awards (IB).” This recognition highlights our dedication to providing a broad and balanced education that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning, preparing students for an ever-evolving future.

From the headmaster

“Thank you for your interest in the Australian International School, Singapore.

“I hope that this welcoming introduction may encourage you to explore our school further. Foremost, the excitement of an international education in the extraordinary city of Singapore is readily shown at AIS. Significantly, the school’s dynamic and global students represent a cosmopolitan expression of learning that fulfils our vision of opportunity, achievement and respect.

“Notably, over fifty nationalities populate AIS, and each student brings the uniqueness of the experiences to enliven others. Singularly, the academic emphasis continues to create a culture of high scholarship.

“Beyond the graduating years, the focus on student learning evolves as a primary and sustaining focus across all year levels. From our world-leading Early Years programme through Elementary School and throughout Secondary, our teaching environment maintains an academic well-being emphasis where the child’s emotional, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and relational being is blended.

“Accordingly, the school community works as one to ensure our mission for students is fulfilled: ‘to enable our students to realise their potential through exceptional opportunities, within a nurturing community which equips them to flourish in life and to make a difference for good.’

“I look forward to seeing you all on campus in 2024.”

– Karrie Dietz, AIS Singapore Head of School

From the parents

“We’ve been living in Singapore for eight years, and our three children were born here. They all attend the Early Learning Village (ELV) at the Australian International School (AIS) – Dayna is in Cuckatoo with Miss Tina, while Matilda and Austin are in Kangaroo with Miss Triona.

“All the children adore their teachers in the ELV and have developed a great sense of belonging in their classrooms and the school community. They love the wide range of explorations and that their individual interests and strengths are nurtured within the learning structure.

“When Dayna was born, we were very excited to find the infant care programme at AIS after extensive research. It provided an abundance of natural light, fresh-air play areas within the classroom and multiple options for safe indoor and outdoor exploration at the school. We were additionally attracted to AIS by the opportunity for our children to have exposure to the uniquely Australian inclusions in their school experience, which could provide a connection to their ancestral heritage.

“When our twins were born, it was without question that they would join AIS infant care. We were very happy to have a number of the same teachers leading their class a couple of years later. The consistency of our experience with AIS is the foundation of our trust and appreciation for the school.

“Our family has enjoyed the school’s inclusive approach to events, from Infant Care through to secondary levels. We’ve especially loved the annual Fish and Chips event for the awesome slip and slide, bouncy castle, inflatable obstacle course and disco!

“The exposure to the school and children outside the ELV has provided our family with the opportunity to have a glimpse of the experiences ahead of us as we continue our journey with AIS.”

– Katie and Benjamin (Australian), parents to Dayna (4), Matilda (2) and Austin (2)
