Background
The Singapore American School (SAS) was established by expat parents in 1956 to meet the needs of the growing expat community. Today the school is an excellent non-profit American-curriculum school from pre-Kindergarten up to Grade 12. The 36-acre campus makes SAS one of the largest single-campus international schools in the world, with more than 4,000 students from 65 countries, although the majority are American. Despite its large student body, the school retains an excellent teacher-to-student ratio of no more than 22 students per teacher. It is renowned for its excellent academic, sporting and cultural achievements, and students consistently out-perform their peers in the US education system. The school has a good choice of extra-curricular activities on offer, although it is particularly known for its established dance programme.

“SAS is located on a 36-acre campus in the Woodlands area of Singapore, approximately 35 minutes’ drive from downtown Singapore. The campus is purpose-built, supports classroom spaces for music, art, and drama, and includes state-of-the-art facilities for students at all grade levels. Students enjoy classrooms that are both modern and spacious, while open airy walkways, flowing fountains and tropical courtyards are located throughout the campus. SAS provides a safe and pleasant learning environment in one of the finest international school facilities in the world.”
Curriculum
Singapore American School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in the US and offers the American High School Diploma at the senior level.
Fees
In the 2023/2024 year, fees for returning students range from SGD 35,120 for Pre-K up to SGD 49,560 for Grade 12.
Fees for all other new students range from SGD 44,910 for Pre-K up to SGD 59,350 for Grade 12. These amounts include the enrolment fee, registration fee, facility fee and tuition.

The school is located in the Woodlands area, about 35 minutes from the city centre.
