Background

ISHCMC American Academy is part of the Cognita education group, along with International School Saigon Pearl (ISSP) and the International School of Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC). Students from ISSP go on to middle school at ISHCMC American Academy. The school is in a purpose-built, five-storey campus with a covered sports area; state-of-the-art, air-conditioned classrooms with interactive whiteboards; specialised room for art, music, science and ITC; an interactive media centre and sports facilities. Senior students also have their own student lounge with study and social areas.

Curriculum

ISHCMC follows an American curriculum. Students graduate with an ISHCMC American Academy High School Diploma and/or an Advanced Placement International Diploma. At middle school level, high ability students are identified for a gifted programme in affiliation with the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY). Students studying towards the AP International Diploma can also take Syracuse University courses for college credit.

Location

The school is in District 2, about 6 miles (10km) from the city centre, and within walking distance of the apartment complexes in An Phu.

Fees

For the 2022/2023 school year, fees range from VND 539,000,000 for Grade 6 to VND 649,000,000 for Grade 12. Fees can be paid in a two-payment, per semester option or a four-payment, per term option. There is an admissions fee of 25,000,000 VND.
