What the school says
"While welcoming children from all backgrounds and faiths, our ethos, values and principles have a firm foundation in the Catholic faith and the 335-year tradition of the De La Salle Brothers.
"We are proud of our Lasallian Catholic heritage and there are many opportunities for Catholic children to explore and deepen their faith. We are a school where people are important and relationships are valued.
"We aim to instil an enthusiasm and curiosity for learning and encourage the pursuit of excellence and achievement of personal best in all endeavours. Our students are encouraged to achieve their full potential, to face new challenges and to become critical thinkers, to be discerning and analytical."
School mission statement
“Enabling students, within a Lasallian community, to learn how to learn and to learn how to live, empowering them to become people of integrity and people for others.”
In the elementary school, the school’s curriculum is made up of many well-tried and successful components. The school follows the Singapore Mathematics programme and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) for science and humanities. Chinese is offered to all as a compulsory subject, while Spanish has recently been added as an option to Grades 5 and 6 children. In Language Arts, the best of the English National Curriculum has been combined with components from the American system in order to provide a rich and rigorous programme of learning for the children. Music, drama and art are not neglected with a full calendar of music concerts, drama productions and art exhibitions. Sport is also strong with a large and varied selection of teams competing in the Singapore ACSIS leagues.
In the high school, the school offers the IGCSE from Grades 7 to 10 and the IB Diploma Programme for Grades 11 to 12 – both widely respected and well-established academic programmes. Learning at the high school has four core elements: academic, co-curricular, service, outdoor education. Each provides experiential opportunities for a truly holistic education leading to the highest levels of personal growth.
School fees vary by grade and are payable over two terms. Fees for the 2023 school year range from SGD 34,952 for Prep to Grade 3 up to SGD 44,192 for Grade 11 (the most expensive school year). There is an application fee of SGD 1,620.
What the parents say
“Our two children have studied at SJI International Elementary School for two years now, and we have all felt very welcomed by their teachers, the school administrators and other students. We have found the teachers very supportive of the children and responsive to their learning styles and needs. We have been very impressed by the quality of teaching and the administration is excellent as well.”
